One of the places that are a symbol of tradition is the Yodo River. In the art done by the very well known and celebrated artist Hokusai Katsushika, you can see that the river is the main waterway that meets together Osaka and Kyoto. The currents in this river are said to be very helpful to the fishermen.
In his art, he portrays the river to be wide and blue with boats calmly floating by. Katsushika is known for his very expressive arts. Some people did not even compare it to be hearts.In between the years, 1785 and 1797 are when he created a lot of arts. This was after he his partner fell off. Hokusai achieved a lot of fame with his next work. He was reportedly said to move from place to place. Some of this include the very known thirty-six views of Mount Fuji.He was so daring in his landscaping and that is why the art came out so strong.
Hokusai was born in the District of doing in Japan. His father a mirror maker taught him how to paint and he totally loves it. His two marriages were said to have ended but that did not stop him from continuing with his artistry.He also started teaching people and his students really did well. Artists want their art to remain relevant even after they die and Hokusai had that. Years after his death his art is of great value. He died at the age of 88. Even though he didn’t achieve much success until the age of 60 he left a mark. You can see some prints of his work in museums.
After he changed his style of working in terms of the subject he found success. He started focusing more on landscapes and adding a little bit of the Japanese tradition and culture into it. This launched his career as one of the smartest artists. He aways wanted to do better and produce better and more impactful art. It is said that on his death bed he said if only he had 10 more years he would become a real painter. Artists who came up under him claimed he was the best art teacher.
